After finalising their post-matric classes, students who wish to continue their education abroad can apply for the Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship. This scholarship will give students between Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 15 lakhs in financial aid, empowering them to travel abroad and pursue their academic goals.

The Department of Social Welfare has launched the AP Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship so that students belonging to the Economically Backward Classes of society may be able to receive the scholarship amounts in order to undertake professional courses after the completion of their post-secondary classes. Students can avail of scholarships of Rs. 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs.

The primary objective of launching the Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship is to provide an integrated interface portal by which the students will be able to pursue their dreams of completing professional courses with the help of scholarship assistance. Students will be given this scholarship amount for pursuing further studies from abroad countries such as the UK, USA, China, Russia, France, Sweden, etc.

Another objective of launching the AP Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship is to grant financial assistance of Rs. 10 to 15 lakhs so that the students who have secured 60% of the minimum marks for pursuing further studies in the professional courses will be able to pursue so after getting the scholarship amounts. The students will need to secure fluency in the English language.

The students will be given the scholarship amounts only when they pursue or undertake PG or PhD degrees in professional courses from universities situated abroad such as the UK, USA, China, Russia, France, Sweden, etc. The rate of the scholarship will be from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,00,000/- which may vary according to the course or country undertaken by the student.

Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship Last Date

As the last date to apply online for this scholarship has been launched, now the students can apply online before the last date. The last date for online form submission will be 20th March 2024 by which the students can apply online. After getting online registration on time, the students will get rid of server-hanging issues.

Minimum Marks Cut-Off

The students will need to secure the minimum marks cut off in the last year’s examination in case they are going to get admission to the next degree or study. If they are going to get admission to PG or PhD degree one then they will need to secure at least 60% marks in the UG exam and in the PG degree in the areas of Engineering / Management / Pure Sciences / Agriculture Sciences / Medicine & Nursing /Social Sciences/Humanities.

For the facilitation of online registration forms, the government of Andhra Pradesh has launched and developed the ePASS Portal so that the students will be able to easily register their application forms on the portal. This will provide upliftment of the students for the promotion of social welfare to them. 

Role of Student & College Principal 

Both student and college principals play a vital role in the transmission of scholarship amounts. Students are held responsible for the submission of the Scholarship Registration Form and the College Principal is responsible for verifying or scrutinizing the documents submitted by them. Within 15 days of the submission, the District Welfare officer submitted the verified documents.
