Objectives Of Andhra Pradesh Ration Card List

One of the foremost objective of launching Ration Card List AP is to provide some form of financial support to the poor or financially weak families who can’t afford the ration because due to poverty. For those, the government will provide subsidies on the foodgrains which may vary from one ration cardholder to another type of ration cardholder.

Replacement Of Ration Card With Rice Card

For providing convenience among the ration cardholders, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to replace the AP Ration Card with the Rice Card by 14^th February 2020 soon. Information has been received that around 1.5 lakhs of applicants will be able to get these rice cards allotted by the government after making verification processes.

Prime Minister has launched the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana under the Food Security Scheme so that the poorest citizens of India will be able to get foodgrains provided by the government. An applicant holding PMGAY Card will be able to get 5 KG of rice and 1 Kg of pulse. Around 740 million beneficiaries have benefitted from this scheme.

Role Of AePDS

Aadhaar Enabled Public Distribution System is the online portal through which the qualitative food services will be delivered to the consumer by enabling the Aadhar seeding with the ration card. Biometric Authentication

Foodgrains or ration items are provided to the consumer or ration cardholder after carrying out the Biometric Authentication. Each Fair Price Shop has an Electronic Point Of Sale (ePOS) device that has a fingerprint and Iris Scanner. At the time of using this machine, the applicant gets authenticated or verified after keeping his/her finger on this machine.

Implementation Of AePDS

For implementing the platform of AePDS, the government starts seeding ration cards with the Aadhar numbers of the applicants with the help of the digitization of databases. At all outlets, the establishment of computerization is undertaken. Government organizes training programs for all the stakeholders at the district, divisional, Mandal and village levels. After that government allocates Fair Price Shops in each district across the state.
