Objectives Of Delhi Scholarship
The major objective of launching the Delhi Scholarship is to provide scholarships to students belonging to the major beneficiary categories such as SC, ST, OBC and Minority communities so that they will be able to pursue their studies without suffering from financial instabilities. Variable scholarship amounts will be given to the students on the basis of the class or degree they are pursuing.
Another objective of launching the Delhi Scholarship Scheme is to make the financially weak students self-independent or self-sufficient to take a stand on their own feet after getting enrolled under the scholarships provided by the Delhi Government. Educational opportunities will be provided at the doorstep of the eligible student.

Beneficiary Categories
The student or applicant must belong to that beneficiary category that has been set up or fixed by the selection body because the government has set up some restrictions on the disbursement of scholarship amounts. This scholarship will only be provided to students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC & Minority categories.

Annual Income Limit
The student or beneficiary must possess that annual limit which have been specified or fixed by the selection body. The annual family income limit must not exceed to that monetary limit which have been specified by the selection body which must be from Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 2,50,000/-. Income Slabs will be determined on the basis of beneficiary category undertaken by the student.

Fund Allocation To Colleges
For providing the amount of scholarship to the eligible students, the government will start allocating the fund to the relevant universities/colleges/institutions earmarked for getting funds. The distribution under each category shall be based on academic merit. Funds will be transferred by the Government of NCT of Delhi as per the students enrolled in the respective universities/colleges.
Disqualification Due to False Information
The student will get disqualified from getting the amount of scholarship transferred to his/her bank account if it is found that the applicant has submitted wrong or false information then the recipient student will refund the entire amount forthwith along with penal interest @ 10% for the period of credit of the amount to his bank account and till the date of refund.
Management Body
Relevant Delhi State Universities/colleges will be delegated with the task of management and administration of providing scholarship amounts to the eligible student. A merit list containing the names of the eligible students will be prepared by each state university/college. The list will be prepared while considering the marks and percentage of the student in the previous class’s examinations.

Government of NCT of Delhi has done a good way to support the students pursuing education from financially backward classes. Some students studying in classes can’t admission fees for their studies due to financial difficulties.
