Fellows or students will be selected for providing teaching to the students of classes 1st to 8th in the physical mode of learning under the Illam Thedi kalvi Scheme. These fellows or students who have been nominated as teachers will be granted monthly salaries. An amount of 200 crores has also been sanctioned by the government in the form of a budget.
For providing rid of the backlog of the students whose studies have suffered a lot, Illam Thedi kalvi Scheme has been launched for the natives of Tamilnadu. Objectives of Illam Thedi kalvi Scheme
The major objective of launching the Illam Thedi kalvi Scheme is to provide or fill the education gaps of students whose studies suffered a lot due to the outbreak of covid-19 virus by initiating a scheme where volunteers will be hired as teachers associate with the work of providing teaching to the students of classes from 1st to 8th.
Another objective of launching the Illam Thedi kalvi Scheme is to provide an incentive-based salary where the selected volunteers will be able to get a monthly salary in return for providing teaching to the students. Students will be able to get a better understanding of the leftover topics. This will forbid the educational gaps of students.

Beneficiary Category
The applicants who are going to apply online for this scheme will need to gain or possess the beneficiary category for which this scheme has been launched. This scheme will be considered eligible for the students who have passed the UG degree in any degree from the recognized college of Tamilnadu.
Volunteer Position
The volunteers who have been nominated or selected will be given or granted the positions of teachers who will be entrusted with the task of providing teaching to the selected classes of students. The nominated or selected volunteers will be given the position of teacher for carrying out teaching for the stipulated duration.
Beneficiary Limitation
Only around limited no of volunteers will be able to get selection or shortlisted for carrying out the duties of teachers. As per the fixed beneficiary limit, around 1 lakh of students will be selected for volunteering teaching services which means around 1 lakh students will be recruited as teachers.
