The Geological Society of India (GSI) has launched the International Earth Science Olympiad for students pursuing school-level studies. Students will be able to secure their precious scholarship amounts after participating in this competition. Students will also be encouraged to imbibe the values of Earth Science subjects consisting of Geosphere, Astronomy, Atmosphere, and Hydrosphere.

International Earth Science Olympiad 2023
To promote the awareness of Earth Science subjects among secondary school students, the International Earth Science Olympiad has been launched so that the students of classes from 9th to 11th will be able to carry out this olympiad at the 4 levels of stages. For registration, a payment of Rs. 150/- must be submitted by the student in the form of registration charges.
To promote international cooperation among friendly states or countries on the concept topic of Earth Sciences, the International Earth Science Olympiad has been launched by the Geological Society of India (GSI) with the active participation of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). Students securing good scores or marks in this Olympiad will be given exciting scholarship amounts in the form of cash prizes.

Objectives of International Earth Science Olympiad
To promote the awareness of Earth Science subjects among the students of classes from 9th to 11th, the International Earth Science Olympiad has been launched with the major objective that secondary school students will be able to get scholarship amounts in the form of cash prizes. This will also increase the knowledge, Aptitude, IQ and skills of the students carrying out this olympiad.
Another objective of launching the International Earth Science Olympiad is to provide an integrated portal or interface by which the students will be inspired to undertake their course of interest in the study aspect of Earth Sciences after conducting this exam. There are four stages prepared for this exam for the selection of eligible beneficiaries.

Description of Selection Process Stages
The descriptions regarding each selection process stage are as follows:-

National Level Entrance Test | The MCQ-based tests will be conducted in the form of an entrance test for the selection of the top 20 students. |
Training Camp | The camp will be organized to provide training to the top 20 students consisting of 18 days and at the end of the training period around 4 students will be selected for the next stage. |
Pre-Departure Training Camp | Before sending the students to Bejing, China Pre-Departure Training Camp will be organized and they will be given or provided training. |

Registration Charges
The students will need to get paid their registration fees before applying online for this Olympiad test. The students will need to submit an amount of Rs. 150/- in the form of registration charges.
