Objectives Of National Education Policy
The major objective of modifying the National Education Policy is to bring some changes to the education policy by which the Central Government will be able to upgrade or update the education sector in each state throughout the country by which they will be able to attain or get 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio.
Another objective of implementing the National Education Policy is to provide modern education to the students where the students will not have to stick to the old rules of education of studies. Now the education pattern of 10+2 has been replaced by the new education pattern of 5+3+3+4.
What is New Education Policy
The New Education Policy is also known as National Education Policy which has been modified for the year 2023 on the basis of 4 pillars or foundation named Access, Equity, Quality, and Accountability. Some changes have been carried out to the aspects or attributes of the education structure which will put a positive impact on the students.
Major Changes To NEP

- 10+2 Education has been converted to a 5+3+3+4 education pattern.

Decoding 5+3+3+4 Pattern
As we all know, the new education pattern has been converted to the schooling pattern of 5+3+3+4. Each digit entailed in this pattern has a vital significance. Let us decode this pattern:-
- 5 Years = 3 Years of Anganwadi/Pre-Primary/Balvatika, as well as 2 years of first and second classes.
- 3 Years = 3rd, 4th, and 5th classes.
- 3 Years = 6th, 7th, and 8th classes.
- 4 Years = 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th classes.
Use of Mother Language
The students will not be able to face problems understanding the teaching of teachers given to them in the English language because now the students or teachers both are subjected to communicate with each other in the mother language where they will be able to communicate faster.
Increase to 6%GDP
In the previous policy session, only about 1% of GDP was spent or invested by the education ministry in the education sector. Now according to the New Education Policy, 6% of GDP will be spent in the education sector which will boost the educational standards as well as infrastructure.
Add up of 1 Year To UG Degree
The college degree or studies can’t be neglected because there is some change that can be seen in the session of UG degree. According to the previous amendment, the students were to carry out the UG degree for the duration of 3 years but now the duration of the UG degree has been subjected to 4 years; which means an add-up of 1 more year.
