Maintenance Of Electoral Rolls
The Election Commission Of India is held responsible for the direction and coordination of the preparation of the Electoral Rolls maintained under each Assembly Constituency (AC). Electoral Rolls are prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, of 1950. There are no separate electoral rolls prepared for each Parliamentary Constituency.
Supervision Body
For preparing Electoral Rolls, Electoral Registration Officer is allotted this task. If we see from the appointment of ERO point of view, then the Civil Service/Revenue Officers of Sub Divisional Officers or Officers of equivalent status are appointed as the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). Officers of Tehsildar will also be considered eligible for giving appointments to the EROs.

Period For Lodging Claims & Objections
The maximum period assigned for lodging claims & objections has been kept for 30 days despite this initially, the period for the lodging process was kept for 21 days. Minimum days to file objections, as well as claims, are fixed by the ECI. So ECI has fixed 15 days as the minimum period for lodging claims and objections. It can also be extended by the Elections Commission by releasing notifications on the online portal.

Honestly speaking then, the EPIC is made from the Electoral Roll Database. No correction in the electoral roll can be done at the time of making EPIC. Internship Programme
