Shri. Narendra Modi Ji has launched the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme Scheme to provide loans ranging from Rs. 10 lakhs to 25 lakhs to citizens who want to avail employment opportunities for themselves. The subsidy will be provided on the loan to the applicant. Around 20% of the subsidy will be allocated to the amount of loan to the applicant.

Objectives Of PMEGP Scheme
The main objective of launching the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme Scheme is to employ the citizens who are suffering from financial difficulties because of not having any jobs to them. This scheme will provide them loan assistance from Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 25 lakhs. Subsidized rates will also be provided to them. 20% subsidy will be offered to them on the loan amount.
Another objective of launching the PMEGP Scheme is to emphasize decreasing the unemployment rate and increasing the employment rate so that the development of the nation’s growth will take place to a higher level. It is the employment or job opportunities which can contribute some form of GDP value to the growth of State development.
Maximum Loan Amount Limit
Loans will be provided to the applicant for the generation of employment opportunities. The maximum limit of the loan amount will be Rs. 1 crore. To this amount, Rs. 3.75 lakhs of subsidy will be allocated to the applicant. Beneficiaries will need to contribute 15% to 20% to this loan amount.
Implementation Procedure
This scheme will be implemented through the KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission Act) which acts as a single National Level Nodal Agency at the National level. At the state level, the State Directors of KVIC will act as an implementing agency for this scheme. This will also monitor the performance of the loan amount in both the rural and urban areas.
