Objectives Of SERB International Research Experience

The major objective of launching the SERB International Research Experience is to enhance national capacity in frontier areas of Science and Technology by offering International R&D experiences to SIRE fellows. Another significant objective of launching the SERB International Research Experience is to utilize the expertise gained by SIRE fellows to strengthen existing or initiate new national programs in their specific domains. Beneficiary Category

This fellowship will only be provided to that applicant who has possessed or attained the beneficiary category for which this fellowship has been launched. The applicants will need to make sure that they have passed PhD degree in the Science and engineering Fields and must be holding a research position in any Indian Research Institution. This fellowship will also be provided to applicants who have passed the MBBS / MD degree and Veterinary degree.

Age Limit

The applicants or beneficiaries will also need to gain or possess the age limit for which this fellowship has been launched. It is also based on the age limit that will serve as a selection parameter. Every eligible beneficiary will need to possess an age limit of 40 years. Applicants who have exceeded this age limit will not be given any selection regardless of the age relaxation that will be provided to the applicants belonging to the SC/ST/OBC communities.

Important Terms & Conditions

• Submission of applications must be done exclusively through the designated online portal in the specified format.
• The duration of the overseas visit cannot exceed six months.
• Scientists and researchers currently employed in an organization, institution, or university must adhere to the rules and regulations of their respective establishments in terms of salary, leave, medical benefits, gratuity, GPF, and pension. SERB holds no responsibility in this regard.
• Selected candidates must commence their research at an international institution within three months of receiving the offer letter. Failure to do so will result in the automatic withdrawal of the offer, and further correspondences will not be entertained.
• Applicants are required to provide an endorsement letter signed by the head of the organization or institute where they are currently employed.
• Additionally, candidates must obtain a letter of approval for their research plan from the host institution.
• Submission of a copy of the acceptance letter from the host institution is mandatory.

• The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• He or she must have passed the Ph.D. degree in Science & Engineering Fields.
