Objectives of Sydney Scholars 2024
The primary objective of launching the Sydney Scholars is to provide scholarships to Indian students for pursuing UG and PG degrees which help in fostering and strengthening the relationship with the University of Sydney in capturing and attracting more and more students for admission. A target of covering around 28 students has been set up.
Another objective of launching the Sydney Scholars is to assist Indian students in reaching the full of potential they hold. This will provide an educational opportunity for the students to remark on their outstanding performance in their studies. A scholarship amount of AUD 40,000/- will be granted to the scholars carrying out UG degrees for the 4 years.

Beneficiary Category
The students must belong to that beneficiary category that has been set up or fixed by the selection body. The student must not be an Australian citizen. He or she must belong to citizenship in India. The student must have received an admission offer or letter from the University of Sydney.

Beneficiary Limitation
The University of Sydney has set up limitations on beneficiary enrollment which will apply to each eligible beneficiary to bound or follow at the time of getting selected. Around 28 students from India will be able to get the scholarship amounts for pursuing UG and PG degrees for a tenure of 4 years or a variable duration.
Disqualification of Beneficiary
The student will get disqualified from getting the scholarship amount in case if he or she fails to satisfy or secure the academic record or is admitted to the part-time courses without getting approval. The student must also have provided correct details in case he or she has provided false or misleading information then he or she will get terminated.

Termination of Scholarship
The scholarship will end if:-
- Leaving or Not Enrolling:– If the student withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol.
- Change in Student Status:- If the student switches from being an international student to a domestic one.
- Unauthorized Part-Time Study:- If the student starts part-time study without approval from the Director International, Sydney Future Students.
- Academic Performance:- If the student doesn’t maintain satisfactory academic performance.
- Serious Misconduct:- If the University determines that the student is guilty of serious misconduct, including providing false information.
- Acceptance of Another Large Scholarship:- If the student accepts another scholarship from the University or a third party worth more than A$10,000 per year.
- Failure to Resume Study:- If the student doesn’t resume study after an approved leave period.
Reserved List
In addition to the Sydney Scholars Award, the University of Sydney also maintains a Reserved List for Indian students. The Reserved List is a pool of highly qualified applicants who have not been offered a Sydney Scholars Award but are still considered for admission to the university. Being on the Reserved List means that these students have met the university’s high academic standards and have the potential to succeed in their chosen fields of study. If a place becomes available in the Sydney Scholars program, students on the Reserved List may be offered a scholarship.
