WISE Internship

Recognizing the challenges that hinder many highly qualified women from pursuing careers in the scientific domain, the WISE Internship program was established. This initiative aims to provide women with the opportunity to undertake a one-year internship, offering theoretical instruction in intellectual property rights. Selected candidates will receive comprehensive training, empowering them to overcome barriers and pursue rewarding careers in the scientific field.

After completing the registration process for the WISE Internship, which will ultimately lead to employment, the female applicants will now have access to women’s empowerment. If chosen, the applicants can work from home and still take care of their household responsibilities. The chosen candidates, or girls, will be able to begin their careers in the IPR through this.

Objectives Of WISE Internship

The major objective of launching the WISE Internship is to grant or provide internship opportunities to women applicants so that they will be able to carry out their careers in the IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) field. Selected applicants will be given 1 year of the training programme. After this, they will also be able to carry out jobs in various sectors.

Another objective of launching the WISE Internship is to secure the interests of those women who have completed their normal studies in the science field but are not able to acquire or attain their careers in this field due to any reason. After joining to internship, women will be provided with the right type of knowledge regarding this field named IPR. Work From Home facilities will also be given to them so that they will also be able to maintain their housewife duties.

Beneficiary Category

The applicants will need to attain the beneficiary category for which this internship has been launched to provide internships to the selected candidates. This internship can be joined or undertaken by only women applicants who have completed their education qualification in the Science field. They will be given knowledge of IPR.

WISE Internship Selection Procedure

The applicants will need to go through the selection procedure for getting selection. In the first step, the applicants will need to conduct an online examination after preparing for it. Based on this, the names of eligible beneficiaries will be shortlisted for the call of the interview stage. The merit list will be prepared. The applicants will need to attend interviews in the empanelled coordination centres.

Facilitation of One-Month Training

The selected applicants through an online exam will be given, first of all, one month of training at the partner agencies in New Delhi. The name of this programme will be an intensive orientation program on IPR. Whenever the applicants will complete their training, a certificate of completion will be given or provided to them.

Facilitation of Hands-On Training

Hands-on Training will also be provided to the applicants or interns after the completion of one-month training. The period of this training will be 10 to 11 months. This training will be given to the interns at anyone out of the coordination centers empanelled. But after the completion of this training, the job of the applicants will not be final.

As the last date to apply online for this internship has been launched, students can apply online before the last date. The last date for online form submission will be 31st May 2023 by which the applicants can apply online. After getting online registration on time, the applicants will get rid of server-hanging issues.

Important Guidelines

Some of the important guidelines that need to be followed by the applicants are as follows:-

• The interns can get leave for the holiday but only for 8 days.
• The candidates or applicants must be ready to relocate to their nearest coordination centre.
• After 1 week of intimation, the intern will be responsible for reporting.
