The Ministry of Human Resource and Development has launched the MHRD Scholarship Scheme by initiating two types of departments such as the Department of Higher Education and the Department of School Education and Literacy. These two departments will facilitate the launching of new scholarship schemes for providing welfare to the students of economically backward classes of society.

MHRD Scholarship 2023
There are 2 types of scholarship categories that have been covered under the MHRD Scholarship covering 18 major scholarships for students at the national and external level so that the students belonging to these categories will be able to apply online as per their choice of requirements and eligibility criteria.
The Ministry of Human Resource and Development has launched the MHRD Scholarship facilitating two types of Ministries at the national level as well as at the external level. The national-level interface will provide the students with an opportunity to get free-of-cost education for studying in India and an external interface will provide the students with higher education for studying abroad.

Objectives Of MHRD Scholarship Scheme
The foremost and primary objective of launching the MHRD Scholarship is to provide a platform by which the students who have higher dreams of pursuing studies or further studies in India as well as or in foreign countries may be able to get implemented by applying online for these scholarships schemes conducted by the government authorities.

Selection Procedure
The students will be selected on the basis of academic excellence, and the previous year’s academic record. Then the selected students will get listed in the beneficiary list and the same thing will get uploaded on the portal. National Means Cum Merit Scholarship | Students will need to secure 55% of the minimum marks in their 8th class examination and now they will have to pursue class 9th having an annual income of Rs. 1.5/- lakhs. |
Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) | The student must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the Science and Technology fields IISc/IITs/NITs/IISERs/IIEST while securing a minimum GPA of 8.0 out of 10 GPA. Students pursuing research from PMRF Approved institutes will also be considered eligible. |
AICTE Pragati Scholarship (Girls) | This scholarship will only be applicable for the girl students having enrollment in the 1st year of a Diploma/Degree in technical course from the AICTE-approved college or institution attaining Rs. 8 lakhs of annual family income. |
AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme | The student must be a disabled person having 40% disability marks pursuing a degree or diploma in the technical course of studies from the AICTE Approved Colleges having an annual income limit of Rs. 8,00,000/-. |
Commonwealth Scholarships in the United Kingdom | Students having 65% and 60% of marks in the science and social science subject pursuing MPhil Degree at a UK University. The maximum age limit of the student must be 40 years. |
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships | Those students who want to pursue further studies in New Zealand will be considered eligible. The student must secure 60% marks in their BA/MA degree. |
Chinese Government Scholarships | Applicants must be pursuing UG/PG/Doctorate while having 60% marks in the UG/PG/Doctorate Studies attaining an age below 45 years. |
South Korean Government Scholarships | The student must be pursuing MA/Doctoral or Postdoctoral studies having the age of 50 years. |
Japanese Government Scholarships | The applicant must be pursuing a research-level degree, MA, PhD course including subjects such as humanities, social science, management studies, mathematical science, chemistry and chemical engineering, physics, and more below the age of 35 years possessing 65% marks in the MA or PhD degree. |
Italian Government Scholarships | This scholarship will only be applied to students pursuing MA/ PhD/ Research-based courses between the age limit of 28 to 40 years and having a proficiency certificate in the Italian language. |
Mexican Government Scholarships | Students with MA/ Doctorate/ UG degrees have a GPA of 80 on a scale of 1 to 100. |
Israel Government Scholarships | Students will need to pursue an MA degree in subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Economics, Environment Studies, Biotechnology, Mass Communication, and Business Management having proficiency in the Hebrew language. |
Brazilian Government Scholarships | Students must have passed his/her class 12th securing 60% of the minimum marks and having proficiency in the Portuguese language between the age group of 18 to 25 years. |
