Minority Scholarship 2024
The Ministry of Minority Affairs introduces the Minority Scholarship for students from minority communities, such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis). It comprises four subsidiary scholarship initiatives, each offering varying amounts based on student classification. The students can also visit the NSP portal to learn more information.
Under the Minority Scholarship, students who fall into the category of minorities and are pursuing pre- or post-matric classes as well as technical courses of study, can apply online for the variable scholarship amounts. Students will receive this scholarship to help with the cost of their education, college tuition, or course fees. The family of the student must render between Rs. 1,00,000 and Rs. 2,50,000 per year.

Objectives Of Minority Scholarship
The primary objective of launching the Minority Scholarship is to provide social security welfare and social and economic security to the students belonging to the minority community so that they will be able to rise above the hierarchy of society. They will be able to fulfil their dreams of pursuing higher levels of education as well as further studies which can only be completed after getting scholarship assistance provided by the government.
Another objective of launching the Minority Scholarship is to provide variable scholarship amounts to the students belonging to minority communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians) so that they will be able to pursue both pre and post-matric classes till the completion of the scholarship amounts which will be provided to the students.

Beneficiary Categories
The student or applicant must belong to the beneficiary category which has been fixed for the selection of eligible beneficiaries. This scholarship will be provided to students belonging to Minority categories or communities such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis). The student must be carrying out classes from 1st to 10th and 11th to Ph.D. Degrees.

Scholarship Renewal Process
The candidate or applicant can apply for the scholarship renewal form but he or she must have to abide by the important guidelines or information provided on the portal. There will be a need to secure at least 70% to 80% in the last year’s exam for the continuation of the scholarship amounts.
Minimum Attendance Record
The students will also need to satisfy the demanded attendance records as per the rules and regulations ascertained by the Ministry of Minority Affairs with the active participation or enrolment of the Government of India. Only those students will be considered eligible who have secured at least or minimum cut of 75% attendance records.
Transfer Of Scholarship To Male Students
As per the provisions of the government, 30% of the scholarship will be reserved for the girls’ students belonging to the minority community but in case the girls are not present in the proper proportion then 30% of the scholarship amount will be transferred to the male students. It is 100% that 30% of this scholarship has been reserved for the girls’ candidates.
Cancellation Of Scholarship Amount
There are certain issues in which the student may not be able to receive the amount of scholarship such as if she has any academic gap while pursuing her studies, failed to submit her application for renewal form year by year and the beneficiary has already held a scholarship under which she is getting the scholarship amount from the other program
Annual Income Limit
The annual income attained or possessed by the student’s family from all sources of income will also be taken into consideration at the time of making the selection of an eligible beneficiary for the disbursement of scholarship amounts. The annual income limit of the student’s family must be between Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Important Guidelines
Some of the important guidelines issued by the government are as follows:-
- The applicant must ensure that he or she belongs to the minority community or must be studying in pre or post-matric classes to get scholarship assistance.
- After getting the scholarship amount the applicant will need to secure 50% of the minimum marks in their previous year’s examination so that they will be able to file their application form for renewal of the scholarship amount otherwise they will not be able to get this scholarship amount.
- There will be a difference in the scholarship amount of the scholar as well as the hosteller.
- Only two students in the family will be able to get scholarship assistance and the others will not be.
- Students will need to secure regular attendance in their school attendance record for the continuation of the scholarship amount.
Benefits Of Minority Scholarship 2024
The benefits of this scholarship are as follows:-

- This scholarship will be provided to the students for pursuing classes from 1st to 12th, UG degree to PhD Degree.
- Girls students will be given a scholarship amount of Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 6,000/- for pursuing classes from 9th to 12th.
- Scholarships will be given to both scholars and hostellers, the amount of scholarship given to the hostellers will be slightly higher than the amount of scholarship given to the scholars.
- Students undertaking professional and technical courses will be given financial assistance of Rs. 5,00/- to Rs. 1000/-.
- This scholarship will cover the major allowances.
