Department of Backward Classes Welfare has launched the WB Oasis Scholarship for students who belong to underprivileged communities such as SC, ST and OBC so that they will be able to get the scholarship amounts for undertaking pre and post-matric classes such as class 9th to 12th and UG degree to Ph.D. degree.

Objectives Of Oasis Scholarship Scheme
The foremost objective of launching the West Bengal Oasis Scholarship is to provide some form of social security provisions and social welfare to the students belonging to the community of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes so that they will be able to expand employment as well as educational opportunities for themselves after getting scholarship assistance provided by the government.
Another objective of launching the Oasis Scholarship is to provide variable scholarship amounts to the students belonging to the SC, ST, and OBC categories so that they will be able to pursue pre and post-matric classes without facing financial instabilities. The student will be given the scholarship amounts on the monthly basis on the basis of the student type to which they belong.

Oasis Scholarship Last Date
The last date for online form submission for the year 2022 was 15th February 2022 for receiving the application forms for the candidates enrolling in the year 2022.
