The Bank of Islamic Development has launched the ISDB Scholarship for providing scholarships to students belonging to the Muslim Religion. Students will be able to build up their good careers. Only those students will be considered eligible for those who are pursuing PG, UG, Ph.D., and VET courses. This scholarship will emphasize career development.

ISDB Scholarship

The Islamic Development Bank has launched the ISDB Scholarship for providing socio-economic welfare and security to students pursuing UG, PG, Ph.D. and VET courses who also hold a religion of Muslim. This scholarship will only be applicable to Muslim students. Students of member countries will also be given scholarships. 

Students or citizens who belong to member countries of the Islamic Development Bank can apply online under the ISDB Scholarship in return for getting financial help and support for pursuing a higher course of studies after the completion of post-matric classes. Students will be encouraged for pursuing college-level studies with this scholarship amount.

Objectives of ISDB Scholarship

The main objective of launching the ISDB Scholarship is to provide scholarships to the students belonging to the member countries of ISDB so that they will be able to build up their bright futures as well as a career after getting the scholarship amounts provided to them in the form of financial help and support. 

Another objective of launching the ISDB Scholarship is to provide incentives or awards to Muslim students undertaking college-level studies such as PG, UG, Ph.D., and VET courses while maintaining academic excellence. Students undertaking B.Ed courses will also be given scholarship amounts.

Beneficiary Category

The student or applicant must belong to the beneficiary category for which this scholarship is meant. The student must belong to the ISDB member country for carrying out UG, PG, PhD, and VET courses. This scholarship will also be applicable to Muslim students belonging to non-member countries. These 2 beneficiary categories will be allowed to apply.

Minimum Marks Cut Off

The students belonging to the beneficiary category will not only possess the beneficiary but will also have to secure the minimum marks cut off in the last year’s examination that has been prescribed or aforesaid by the selection body. The students will need to secure 50% to 70% marks in the last year’s examination.

Minimum Research Experience

The student who is going to apply for this scholarship for undertaking PhD degree or postdoctoral degree in the eligible lists of courses will also need to possess or attain minimum research experience for a fixed time or duration. The fellows must hold 2 years of research experience in the eligible course listed.

Application, Selection, & Support

Programs are managed by the Special Assistance Division (SpAD) under IsDB’s guidance. SpAD handles applications, selection, placement, and financial support for students. Academic progress is monitored for timely completion. Applications for SPMC, M.Sc., and IsDB-ISFD programs are reviewed by the Internal Executive Committee (IEC) for approval. MSP applications undergo a second review by scientists. IEC recommends candidates for final selection. 

Guidance & Counselling for Success

IsDB supports students through the “Guidance and Counselling Activities” program. Honorary counselors are appointed to provide guidance and support. Annual seminars are organized for group learning and personal development. Mentorship, educational development seminars, and tutoring during vacations are also offered.
