The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) has been launched to help college students pursuing non-technical courses upgrade their skills. National Apprenticeship Training Scheme 2024
With the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme, students pursuing non-technical degrees like BA, B.Com, and BSc can now choose to pursue or continue their apprenticeship after registering online. They will gain more training skills as a result. After acquiring the guidance, the students will be able to internalize the virtues of skill development.
The National Apprenticeship Training System (NATS) was introduced by Boards of Apprenticeship to help students seek employment after improving their theoretical knowledge, skills, and practical approach. With the practical study approach, students will be able to apply their theoretical approach. Three thousand crore rupees have been cast aside by the government for the successful implementation.

Objectives Of National Apprenticeship Training Scheme
The main objective of launching the NATS is to provide up-gradation in skilling the youth for setting up their new careers or employment so that they will utilize their theoretical approach of study for their field of work with the practical approach. The duration of the apprenticeship will be 6 months or can be extended to 3 years.
Another objective of launching the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is to provide stipend cum basis apprenticeship to the students carrying out general courses so that they will be able to equip themselves with the practical knowledge and skills which are required for their field of work. This skill-based training will be provided to the youth by 2025-2026.

Age Limit
The students who are going to apply for this apprenticeship named NATS to get admission to the apprenticeship courses for on-the-job training will not only need to pass this test but will also need to possess the age limit of 16 years. Students will be able to get admission to any of the 3 offered apprenticeships.
Types Of Offered Apprenticeships
There are 3 types of apprenticeships offered to students:-
- Graduate Apprenticeship
- Technician Apprenticeship
- Technician (Vocational) Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship Training Duration
The duration of apprenticeship training will be fixed or set up according to the course of study or degree undertaken by the student. The duration of the training phase for the students pursuing or undertaking general courses will be 6 months consisting of 182 days which can be extended to 3 years.
National Career Service (NCS)
The Directorate General of Employment has developed the National Career Service (NCS) providing one-step solutions to both the job seeker and employer-seeking employee. This portal provides employment and career-related services to candidates who are seeking training opportunities. This portal fills the gap between job seekers and employers finding employees.
Allocated Budget
This apprenticeship has been launched to provide skill-based training to students who have passed their UG-level degrees. The Central Government has also disbursed the amount of budget allocated for this training scheme. An amount of Rs. 3000/- crores has been set up by the Ministry of Skill Development.
Ineligible Beneficiaries
The lists of ineligible beneficiaries are as follows:-
- Students who are self-employed.
- Government Employee.
- Students or applicants holding Work-Experience.

National Apprenticeship Training Scheme Last Date
As the last date to apply online for this scholarship has been launched, now the students can apply online before the last date. The last date for online form submission will be 6th March 2024 by which the students can apply online. After getting online registration on time, the students will get rid of server-hanging issues.
Benefits Of National Apprenticeship Training Scheme
The benefits of this training scheme are as follows:-
- The students with general UG degrees will be able to get employment facilities after joining the training programs.
- Students who have joined the NATS will also be given a stipend on a monthly basis.
- Apprenticeship training will be provided to the students at the place of their work field.
- After the completion of the training period, the government will start providing them with a proficiency certificate which can be used to get job opportunities.

- There are 3 types of apprenticeships that will be offered to the students which are:-

- The main aim of adopting such skill-based training is to provide a practice-based approach among the students so that students will be able to use their theoretical study practically.
- The minimum time period of this training program will be 6 months and the maximum will be 3 years.

- Training will be provided to the eligible beneficiaries by 2025-2026.

The applicants will need to follow the mentioned below eligibility criteria for getting online registration under this training apprenticeship: –
- The applicant must be a resident of India.
- The student must be 16 years of age.
- The student must have a degree or diploma certificate issued by the competent authority.
- The applicant must be pursuing or passed the general or non-technical courses.
- The student must not be serving any government body.
- The applicant must not have any working experience or job experience.

- Look at the right-hand side of your screen.
- Then click on the button to Login.
- A new page will be displayed on your screen where you will need to select the respective options as per your personal details.
- In the first step, click on the drop-down menu and then select Student Preference.
- Then select the State, have completed or am doing, course field, year, and mode of education drop-down menu.
- Then choose the other drop-down menus.
- Now click on the Send OTP button after entering your Gmail ID.
- Now enter the OTP received.
- After that, you will need to enter your phone number.
- Then click on the Send OTP button.
- Enter your name and set up a strong password.
- Afterwards, you will need to click on the Save And Continue buttons.
- The Preview & Confirm page will be shown on your screen.
- Preview the form and then submit the form to the portal.
