Banishree Scholarship 2024

All students with disabilities can apply online for the Banishree Scholarship to receive financial assistance for pre- and post-matriculation coursework, covering classes 1 through 12, and undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees. The scholarship amounts will be disbursed monthly to support students in their educational pursuits, ensuring they have the necessary financial aid to excel academically and achieve their educational goals.

The Banishree Scholarship was formed by the Department of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to provide or award scholarship amounts to students or children who fall in PWD categories and are enrolled in first through twelfth-grade classes as well as UG and PG degrees. Students in classes five through 10 will receive a scholarship worth Rs. 250/-per month.

Objectives of Banishree Scholarship 2024

The primary objective of launching the Banishree Scholarship is to provide social security and socio-economic welfare to the students belonging to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) so that they will be able to access each and every educational and employment opportunities normally as the other normal students may access or acquired.

Another objective of launching the Banishree Scholarship is to provide scholarship amounts to PWD students in the form of financial help and support so that they will be able to avail of educational services till the completion of their PG or MA degree. Students of both Post matric and pre-matric classes will be given the scholarship amounts.

Beneficiary Category

The student or candidate must belong to that beneficiary category that has been fixed by the selection body which will serve as selection criteria for the student to get selected. The student must belong to the Person With Benchmark Disability. The student must be pursuing pre and post-matric classes and must hold the domicile of Odisha state.

Implementation Process

This scholarship will be implemented through the mentioned following steps:-

• District Welfare Officer will be delegated of the task of carrying out printed forms.
