Objectives Of NIT Scholarship
The main objective of launching the NIT Scholarship Scheme is to provide a portal by which the students who want to pursue their technical education after the completion of class 12th will be able to do so with the help of financial assistance provided to them after clearing the entrance examination. A list of 11 scholarships will be offered to the students. Students can also opt for National level and Maharashtra State Scholarships for applying.
Another objective of launching the NIT Scholarship is to award those meritorious students who have been able to clear or pass out the entrance examination for getting admission to the Technical courses at the National Institute of Technology. 100% fee reimbursement will be given to those students who have qualified for the Entrance Examination of NIT.

Conduction Of JEE Main Examination
For the selection of the best candidates for providing admission to the Technical Courses, the Ministry of Human Resources Development has set up Jee Main Entrance Examination which is compulsory for any student to conduct for getting admission to the B.Tech or other technical courses. Students able to clear this exam can get direct admission to the technical courses with the help of scholarship assistance provided by the government.
Promotion of Technical Education
With the adoption of this NIT Scholarship among the underprivileged sections, the students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PWD communities will be inspired and motivated the same for undertaking technical courses of studies from the recognized NIT colleges or institutes across India which will increase the promotion of technical education/studies among the underprivileged sections.
Annual Income Limit
The student must possess that annual income limit that has been fixed or set up by the selection body because this scholarship is only applicable to the students whose annual income of the family from all earning sources is between Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/-. Students whose annual income limit exceeds these values will not be given the scholarship amounts.
