All students who wish to pursue post-matric classes, including 11th and 12th grade coursework, degrees, and diplomas, may do so after receiving the scholarship money provided by the Mahadbt Scholarship. Only students who meet the requirements of SC, ST, OBC, EBC, OBC, SEBC, SBC, and General and who are residents of Maharashtra will be eligible for this scholarship.

Mahadbt Scholarship 2023-24

The state government of Maharashtra established the Mahadbt Scholarship program to provide financial assistance to students who fall under the social welfare categories of SC, ST, OBC, BC, EBC, EWS, and minorities. This will enable these students to pursue higher education beyond their higher secondary education.

The Mahadbt Scholarship was made possible by the enthusiastic involvement of multiple departments, including the departments of tribal, higher education, technical education, minorities, disabilities, skill development, and agriculture. In the form of subsidiary scholarship initiatives, this scholarship has covered about fifty scholarships. The student must apply in accordance with their qualifying category.

Objectives Of Mahadbt Scholarship 

The primary objective of launching the Mahadbt Scholarship is to provide a single platform or interface by which the students belonging to the categories of Underprivileged communities and EBC will be able to get assistance provided by the relevant departments with their category. Various scholarship services launched by different departments will be provided on the single portal. 

Another objective of launching the Mahadbt Scholarship is to provide financial assistance or support to students hoping to pursue higher/professional/technical education but who can’t do so due to poverty which results in the dropout rates decreasing the literacy rate of the state. Scholarships will provide them with a path for fulfilling their dreams of getting highly educated.

Mahadbt Scholarship Transferral

There are around 50 scholarships that have been covered in each of the delegated departments responsible for launching each scholarship scheme. Some of the subsidiary scholarships are based on a monthly transferral and some of them are on an annual or yearly transferral basis. The transferral of the scholarship amounts has been made on the basis of course or study.

Aadhar Seeding Is Must 

Students will need to link the account number with the Aadhar Number to receive the amount of scholarship because the amount will get transferred through the mode of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Aadhar seeding is a must for getting a scholarship amount. For linking the aadhar number, the applicant can also visit the bank branch by taking the required documents. 

50% to 75% Attendance Record

The attendance record of the student will also be taken in the form of selection criteria for the student’s selection. It is mandatory for the students to maintain a minimum cut-off attendance record. The students will need to maintain 50% to 75% of attendance records in the last year of their study.

Some Important Guidelines 

Some important guidelines issued by the government are as follows:-

  • For registration under any scholarship, the applicant will need to enrol himself or herself on the Mahadbt portal. 
  • Getting a login to the portal is a must for accessing various scholarships offered by the different departments. 
  • For the renewal of the scholarship, the applicant will need to make sure that their applications from the previous year have been disposed of, approved or not rejected. 
  • The student will not need to get enrollment under any scholarship scheme if his/her application is already put under the scrutiny process. 
  • In case of the scrutiny process, the student will need to update his/her required information in the profile. The scrutiny process should be completed.

The benefits of this scholarship are as follows: –

  • Mahadbt Scholarship will provide social security provisions to the students belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections. 
  • Students will be able to get enrollment under any one scholarship out of the 50 offered scholarships.
  • Some scholarships are based on fee concession or fee reimbursement patterns.
  • 100% fee reimbursement will be given to the meritorious students.
  • Eklavya Scholarship will cover a scholarship amount of Rs. 5,000/- for the students undertaking PG degrees in the commerce, arts, and law fields.

  • Around 10 departments are working to integrate to provide social welfare to the students belonging to the categories of SC, BC, OBC, EWS, EBC, and PWD. 
  • The amount of the scholarship will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries.

Features Of Mahadbt Scholarship 

The features of this scholarship are as follows: –

  • Mahadbt Scholarship has been launched with the active participation of various departments.
  • This scholarship will be applicable to the citizens residing in the Maharashtra state.
  • This scholarship will be applicable to the students belonging to the SC, ST, VJNT, OBC, SBC and Minority communities.
  • There are around 50 scholarships that have been launched by the various departments.
  • There are around 10 departments that have launched scholarships for providing scholarship amounts to various categories of students. 
  • The scholarship amount transferred to the student will vary from the other student based on the scholarship scheme which he/she possesses. 
  • The fresh opening of the scholarship forms will start on 1st December 2022.
  • There are around 6 groups classified for the group-wise course selection.
  • The scholarship will cover tuition fees, exam fees, and maintenance allowance. 
  • The students will be advised to apply online under the Mahadbt Scholarship before the last date of online form submission.

Mahadbt Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

The applicant will need to fulfil the mentioned eligibility criteria for getting online registration under the Mahadbt Scholarship: –

Government of India Post-Matric ScholarshipThe student must hold the domicile of Maharashtra and he or she must belong to the SC category and must be pursuing post-matric class while possessing an annual income limit of Rs. 2.50/- lakhs.
Post-Matric Tuition Fee and Examination Fee (Freeship)SC students must be pursuing post-matric classes having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Maintenance Allowance for student Studying in professional coursesThe SC student must be pursuing professional courses and must be living in the hostels having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit ScholarshipThis scholarship will be provided to the students of the SC caste who are pursuing classes 11th and 12th while holding 75% marks in class 10th.
Post-Matric Scholarship for persons with disabilityThe student must be a person with a special need holding 40% disability marks pursuing post matric class or college-level degree
Vocational Training Fee reimbursement for the students belonging to Scheduled Caste category StudentsThe student must belong to the SC category and must be undertaking vocational courses from the Government or Private ITI having an annual income limit of Rs. 8,00,000/-.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme (Government Of India )This scholarship will be given to the ST students pursuing post matric class as per the group categorized to them and must pertain to an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Tuition Fee &  Exam Fee for Tribal Students ( Freeship)The ST student must be undertaking college-based studies and have an annual income of Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
Vocational Education Fee ReimbursementThe ST student must be undertaking vocational courses in Engineering, Pharmacy, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Vaastu Shastra, MBA, and MCA fields having an annual income limit of Rs. 2.50/- lakhs.
Vocational Education Maintenance AllowanceThe student must be a candidate of the ST category and must be undertaking vocational courses from a recognized college or institute having an annual income of Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
Vocational Training Fee reimbursement for the students belonging to Scheduled Tribe CategoryThe ST student must be pursuing vocational courses from the Government or Private ITI and must possess an annual income limit of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti SchemeThe general and SEBC student must be undertaking professional and non-professional courses or degrees and possess an annual income of Rs. 8,00,000/-.
Assistance to Meritorious Students scholarship – Junior LevelStudents of classes 11th and 12th will be considered eligible who have secured top ranks.
Education Concession to the Children of Ex-ServicemenA student should be a Son/Daughter/Wife/Widow of an EX-SERVICEMAN pursuing a degree or college-based studies.
Eklavya ScholarshipThe student must have secured at least 60% marks in the UG degree and now he or she must be undertaking a PG degree in the arts, science, and law fields while holding an annual income limit of Rs. 75,000/-.
State Government Open Merit ScholarshipStudents must have secured 60% marks in the class 12th exam and must be pursuing UG degrees in the arts, science, and law fields.
Scholarship to Meritorious students possessing Mathematics /PhysicsThe student must have secured at least 60% marks in the class 12th exam in the science stream and above 60% marks in maths and physics subjects.
Government Vidyaniketan ScholarshipStudents must have passed the class 10th while securing 60% marks and must be pursuing a UG degree from an accredited college or university.

Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna (DHE)The student must be an SEBC and General category candidate pursuing a professional and non-professional course from the Government /Non-government aided/Partially Aided -Unaided/Permanent Unaided College and Non-Agricultural Universities and Sub-Centers (Excluding Private Universities / Self-financed Private Universities) and must be a child of Registered Labor /Alpabhudharak (Marginal Land Holder) having an annual income of Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna(EBC)The EBC student must be pursuing a degree/PG degree and diplomas in professional courses from a private or deemed university having an annual income limit of Rs. 8,00,000/- and they will also need to secure at least 50% attendance record.
Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna(DTE)The SEBC/General student must be pursuing a Degree/PG Degree and diplomas in technical courses from a private or deemed university having an annual income limit of Rs. 8,00,000/- and they will also need to secure at least a 50% attendance record.
Open Merit Scholarships in Junior CollegeThe student must have secured at least 60% marks in class 10th and now he or she must be pursuing classes 11th and 12th.
Merit Scholarships for Economically Backward Class StudentsThis scholarship will be applicable to the hosteller girls and boys of the EBC category undertaking classes 11th and 12th and must have secured at least 50% marks in the class 10th exam.
Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT StudentsThe student must be a VJNT candidate pursuing post-matric classes having an annual income limit of Rs. 1,50,000/- and must have secured a 75% attendance record.
Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT StudentsThe VJNT student must be pursuing post-matric classes such as a degree/diploma and pg degree in engineering, pharmacy, and medical courses having an annual income limit of Rs. 8,00,000/-.
Payment of Maintenance Allowance to VJNT and SBC Students Studying in Professional Courses and Living in Hostel Attached to Professional CollegesThe student must be a candidate of both VJNT and SBC community pursuing professional courses while residing in the hostel having an annual income limit of Rs. 1,00,000/-.
