The National Talent Search Examination Scholarship is a national scholarship program that encourages students from key states in India to achieve relevant cash prizes for pursuing science and social science in classes 11 and 12. The minimal score required for the awardee’s benefit category will depend on how well they perform.

The National Talent Search Examination is being held at the national level, consisting of all states of India, to encourage students to undertake higher education by showing their relevant talents, aptitude, and knowledge. The NCERT Bodies launched this exam to promote higher and further education.

Objectives Of NTSE Scholarship 

The primary objective of launching the NTSE Scholarship is to carry out national-level scholarship tests across India covering major states so that the students having unique skills, talents, knowledge, and aptitude will be able to carry out this test for getting the scholarship amount which will serve as a tuition fee or maintenance allowance.

Another objective of launching the NTSE Scholarship is to promote the awareness of grasping higher or further education opportunities for pursuing so that the students will be able to receive the monthly scholarships after securing their respective ranks in this test. Students belonging to reserved and unreserved categories will be given the participation for applying.  

NTSE Scholarship Last Date 

As the last date to apply online for this scholarship has been launched, now the students can apply online before the last date. The last date for online form submission will be 4th November 2024 by which the students can apply online. After getting online registration on time, the students will get rid of server-hanging issues.

Exam Format

The NTSE Scholarship Exam is conducted in two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2.

  • Stage 1: This stage is conducted at the state/union territory level and is open to all students studying in Class X. The exam consists of two papers: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The MAT paper tests the students’ logical reasoning and analytical skills, while the SAT paper evaluates their knowledge in subjects like Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences.
  • Stage 2: Students who qualify in Stage 1 are eligible to appear for Stage 2, which is conducted at the national level. The exam pattern for Stage 2 is similar to Stage 1, with the addition of an additional paper on Language Comprehensive Test.

Selection Of Eligible Students 

The selection of eligible students for providing scholarship amounts will be based on their merit performance which they have shown by participating in this exam. The students will need to pass stage 1 to get entry to the stage 2 exam. Students can also secure qualifying marks as per the caste category to which they belong.

The key guidelines of this test are as follows:-

  • Eligibility Criteria: The NTSE scholarship is open to students studying in Class 10 in recognized schools. Students must be Indian nationals and should not be more than 18 years of age.
  • Application Process: Students need to apply for the NTSE scholarship through their respective schools. The application forms are made available by the State/UT Liaison Officer.

Benefits Of National Talent Search Examination 2024 

The benefits of this scholarship are as follows:- 

  • NTSE Scholarship will be held at the national level for the selection of students across India.
  • Scholarship reservation of 63.5% will be provided to the reserved categories such as SC, ST, and PWD.
  • Students who have passed the stage 1 exam will be given entry to the stage 2 exam.
  • Financial assistance of Rs. 1250/- will be provided to the students of classes 11th & 12th.
  • Students of UG and PG degrees will be granted financial assistance of Rs. 2,000/-.
  • Students belonging to the PWD categories will need to secure only 32% marks in the whole exam.
  • Students of the General Category can secure 40% marks for passing this exam.

Features Of NTSE Scholarship 2024 

The features of this scholarship are as follows:- 

  • The NCERT body has launched the National Talent Search Examination.
  • The NCERT body has been selected as a conduction body for this exam. 
  • This scholarship is a National Level Examination held at the national level all over India. 
  • Students of classes 11th, 12th, UG, PG and PhD will be given scholarships.
  • There are 2 stages of this test which will be mandatory for the student to pass out.
  • This scholarship test will be conducted at 29 states and 7 UTs at their respective timing. 
  • An amount of Rs. 1250/- will be given to the students of classes 11th and 12th every month who have passed this exam. 
  • Students of Undergraduation or Post-Graduation will be provided with a scholarship amount of Rs. 2000/- per month.
  • The questions asked in this exam will be based on MCQ. 
  • Students carrying out the NTSE Scholarship will need to secure 64 to 84 marks in both stages to qualify for this exam.
