Objectives of PFMS Scholarship Scheme
The primary objective of launching the PFMS Scholarship is to provide a portal with links to the central and state government scholarships so that the students will be able to apply to the various scholarship schemes launched by the state in which they are living. This will provide an opportunity for the students of SC and EBC to get scholarship assistance provided by the government.
Another objective of launching the PFMS Scholarship Scheme is to facilitate the movement of funds or money spent or disbursed by the government for providing scholarships to students belonging to the Economically Backward Classes and disadvantaged section communities. Transferral Through DBT Mode
For the reduction of corruption favours and issues, the Central Government has directed all the concerned officials as well as authorities to transfer the scholarship amount to only those account numbers who have linked their account number with the aadhar number. For this, the government has adopted the mode of DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Centrally Sponsored Schemes
The Public Financial Management System promotes the Centrally Sponsored Schemes which are implemented by the State Government but are largely sponsored by the Central Government holding a defined shareholding.
