The EBC Scholarship has been established to support students from Economically Backward Communities in pursuing their UG, PG, Ph.D., and Diploma courses at institutions in Maharashtra. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance that will enable students coming from EBC communities to further their education. Various awards will be granted to eligible recipients.

EBC Scholarship

The Maharashtra government has introduced the EBC Scholarship that will provide 100% fee concessions to economically backward (EBC) students in the state who are pursuing UG, PG, Ph.D., and Diploma courses at recognized universities or institutions. The scholarship program offers a selection of 5 scholarships for eligible students which means only 5 students will be given selection.

The EBC Scholarship program offers five scholarships for students to apply to. Depending on the scholarship plan they choose, students may receive different amounts of money. These scholarships can help pay for different courses and degrees that students want to study. Each scholarship will be covering variable scholarship amounts that may be offered to them.

Objectives of EBC Scholarship

The major objective of launching the EBC Scholarship is to provide scholarship amounts to the students in the form of financial help and support by which they will be empowered to carry out different courses from different institutions as per their choice of requirement. A list of 6 scholarships will preserve their choices.

Another objective of launching the EBC Scholarship is to provide social welfare to the students coming from Maharashtra state by which they will be able to pursue higher courses of studies without lacking funds. Students will be able to make their choices without suffering from financial issues. Variable scholarship amounts will be offered to each student on the basis of the scholarship undertaken by the student.

Scholarship and Technical Education To Handicapped Students, Maharashtra

The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance has launched the Scholarship and Technical Education To Handicapped Students so that the students belonging to disabilities will be able to receive the scholarship amounts by which they will be enabled to carry out technical studies. The students will be given scholarships on the basis of group-wise categories.

The last date to apply online will be 31st March 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a native of Maharashtra state.
• He or she must belong to the PWD category holding 40% disability marks.
• The student must be enrolled in the Technical course or degree.
• The annual income limit must not exceed Rs. 8 Lakhs.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Yojna

The Department of Higher Education has launched this scholarship so that the students will be able to get or receive scholarship amounts for getting admission to Professional and non-professional courses.  This scholarship will be applicable to the students belonging to EWS sections. 50% to 100% fee reimbursement will be given to the students on the exam fees.

Scholarship Amount

The selected students will be given or provided 50% 100% fee reimbursement on the exam and tuition fees.

Last Date

The last date to apply online will be 31st March 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

• He or she must be a native of Maharashtra state.
• The student must belong to the EWS community.
• Only 2 children out of the family will be given the benefit.
• The student must be getting admission to the professional or non-professional course.
• The annual income limit must be Rs. 8,00,000/-.

Rajshri Sahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship, Maharashtra

This scholarship will only be provided to the students who belong to the SC communities and also are pursuing higher secondary classes such as 11th and 12th. The students will need to secure at least 75% marks if he or she needs to get scholarship amounts provided under this scholarship.

Scholarship Amount

Selected students will be given a monthly scholarship of Rs. 300/- for the duration of 10 months.

Last Date

The last date to apply online will be 31st March 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

• He or she must be a native of Maharashtra state.
• The student must belong to the SC community.
• He or she must have passed the examination of SSC with 75% marks.

Professional Training Allowance And Subsistence To Hostel Students

This scholarship will be provided or given to the Maharashtrian students pursuing studies while getting residing in the hotels. The students of SC castes only will be given scholarships to apply online. The students will be able to carry out or pursue professional training with the help of a living allowance provided to them.

Scholarship Amount

Selected students will be given hostel allowances.

Last Date

Eligibility Criteria

• He or she must be a native of Maharashtra state.
• The student must belong to the SC community
• The applicant must be a hosteler.
• He or she must be pursuing professional training.

Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT (Vimukta Jati, Nomadic Tribes) SBC Students

This scholarship plan can only be availed by students belonging to the VJNT, and SBC students. Students will be given or offered tuition fees and exam fees in the form of fee concessions by which they will be able to carry out courses that have been approved by the government in the category of post-matric classes.

Scholarship Amount

Selected students will be given reimbursement for tuition fees and examination fees.
