Objectives Of Scholarship For Polytechnic Students

The main objective of launching the Scholarship For Polytechnic Students is to provide or award scholarships to the students who have enrolled themselves for the polytechnic or diploma level courses so that they will not have to depend upon their parents for demanding the fees of their colleges or courses. 

Another objective of launching the Scholarship For Polytechnic Students is to encourage the students for joining the diploma courses consisting of 3 years so that they will be able to contribute some investment towards their career development. This scholarship will be provided to the students based on their academic performance or the marks they have scored in the previous year’s exam.

Role Of MHRD & UGC 

Here the Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission is playing a vital role in the promotion of higher education or studies among the students of the North Eastern Region and this will also increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER). The main responsibility of MHRD is to encourage the students of NER to pursue higher education despite belonging to the EWS category. 

Academic Performance Is Must

The Academic Performance of the students will play a decisive role in the selection of eligible beneficiaries for the preparation of the Beneficiary List. Students will be judged based on academic performance such as last year’s examination marks and attendance record. Students will need to secure 50% to 60% marks in the previous year’s exams and 75% attendance record in their school attendance records.

Annual Income Limit

The student’s annual income limit will be taken into consideration at the time of making a selection of the students. The annual income limit must exceed the specified or mentioned income limit value. The students will need to make sure the annual income limit of the student’s family must be between Rs. 1,50,000/- to Rs. 8,00,000/-.

Saksham Scholarship For Disabled Students This scholarship will only be provided to the students belonging to the PWD category having a 40% disability mark admitted for the first-year degree or diploma-level course in the technical stream. The annual income limit of the student must be 8,00,000/-.
Merit Cum Means Scholarships For Professional and Technical Courses The applicant must be pursuing a technical or professional level course from the polytechnic college while securing 50% minimum marks in the previous year’s exam.
