Objectives Of Post Matric Scholarship For Students With Disabilities
The primary objective of launching the Post Matric Scholarship (PWD) is to provide some form of encouragement and enhancement among the students belonging to Persons With Disability so that their hope and confidence will not get down for the continuation and maintenance of their higher studies because it is the study which can give them career aspirations for the maintenance of their livelihood.
Another objective of launching the Post Matric Scholarship For Students With Disabilities is to promote and improve the enrollment of students belonging to the PWD communities so that they will be able to get educational opportunities for pursuing post-matric classes such as 11th and 12th and higher courses of studies such as UG, PG and Ph.D. Degree after getting the scholarship amounts.

Role Of DePWD
The Department of Empowerment of Persons With Disability is playing a vital role in the facilitation of the development agenda of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). This department is responsible for providing equal opportunities to the students belonging to the PWD categories. DePWD creates an environment for providing rights and protections to the students of PWD.
Creation Of National Database For PwDs
Soon the government will start creating and maintaining the database for the students belonging to the categories of Person With Disabilities. For this, they will be required to have their Unique IDs which will bring uniformity and transparency to the maintenance of the database. A centralized web application will help in the maintenance of the database.
Important Information
Some of the important information issued by the government are as follows:-
- It has been mandatory for all the students to know that 50% of the scholarship quota will be reserved for women candidates. In case women candidates are not present in the proper number then their quota reservation will be transferred to the male candidates which will be as per the rules and regulations regulated by the government.
- If there are more than two students or children in the family then only two children will be given scholarship assistance and the others will not be able to get this opportunity.
- The selection body will prepare the list of eligible beneficiaries after scrutinizing the documents and necessary forms submitted by them.
- Students will be able to get scholarship amounts in the cashless format due to the adoption of the PFMS system.
