Students from Jammu & Kashmir pursuing general and professional degree programs at AICTE-recognized colleges are eligible for scholarships under the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship amounts to Rs. 30,000 for general programs and Rs. 1.50 lakhs for professional programs. This initiative is established by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to support students from the state.

Upon receiving scholarships from the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for Jammu & Kashmir residents, students can enroll in general, professional, and medical courses. Objectives Of Prime Minister Special Scholarship 

The primary objective of launching the PMSSS is to provide scholarships in the form of financial help and support to the students of J&K State for pursuing professional, general and medical courses with the help of scholarship amounts provided to them. Another objective of launching the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme is to provide scholarship amount of Rs. 30,000/- and Rs. 1,20,000/- to the students belonging to the SC, ST and SEBC communities for pursuing general and professional courses. A target of covering about 5000 students have been set up. 44% of reservations will be kept for reserved categories.

Beneficiary Category

This scholarship will only be provided to the students residing in the Jammu and Kashmir state or J&K State. The student must be pursuing general, professional and medical courses which have been approved by the AICTE named All India Council for Technical Education. A total of 5000 scholarships will be awarded.

Transfer Of Scholarship Amount 

After getting enrollment under the desired subsidiary scholarship, the amount of the scholarship will be transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries from the 1st of April or from the month of getting admission.
