The Sarojini Damodaran Foundation has introduced the Vidyadhan Scholarship for students enrolled in 11th and 12th grade in selected states. Approximately 2800 students will be chosen to receive an annual scholarship payout of Rs. 5,000. This initiative aims to support students’ educational pursuits and alleviate financial burdens, ensuring they have the resources necessary to excel academically and pursue their aspirations.

Objectives Of Vidyadhan Scholarship 

The main objective of launching the Vidyadhan Scholarship is to provide scholarships to students belonging to the poor sections of society so that they will be able to stand up on their own feet for getting pay out their schooling fees with the help of the scholarship amount offered to them. Both school-pursuing and college-going students will be given scholarship amounts in the form of financial help and support.  

Another objective of launching the Vidyadhan Scholarship is to provide scholarships to the students undertaking classes 11th and 12th from the states that have been empanelled for providing scholarships such as Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. The scholarship amount of Rs. 5,000/- will be provided to the students on an annual basis.

Beneficiary Target

The Government has set up a target on the beneficiary limit which will be followed or need to be bound by the selection body for the selection of an eligible student who will be considered eligible for getting the scholarship amounts. A target of covering around 4300 students has been set up by the government covering major states such as Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, AP, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana.

Vidyadhan Scholarship Selection Procedure

The students will be selected on the basis of the selection procedure. The students or scholars will need to fulfil the eligibility criteria so that he or she will be considered eligible by the selection body for carrying out the written test. Students securing good performance or scores in the written test will be called for the interview round. On the basis of the interview round, the students will get shortlisted for the scholarship amounts.

Annual Income Limit

The source of earnings of the student/beneficiary’s family will also be taken into consideration whenever the student is shortlisted for the scholarship amounts. The annual income of the student’s family must not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/-. Only those students will be shortlisted whose annual income value equals this amount.

Vidyadhan Scholarship Last Date

• The Students will need to secure good marks or attendance in their current classes.

• The applicant must be a citizen of India.
