The West Bengal Scholarship, initiated by the Government of West Bengal, aims to aid students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Students who live in West Bengal can now apply online for the West Bengal Scholarship if they meet the eligibility requirements, which include being a member of a minority, SC, or ST group, and want to pursue post-matric classes from grades 9 through 12 and undergraduate studies up to a doctorate. Objectives of WB scholarship scheme

The primary objective of launching the West Bengal Scholarship is to explore and expand the educational and employment opportunities among the students belonging to the SC or ST community so that they will be able to build their foundation for their upcoming future which can contribute a form of investment or contribution to the whole life of their career.

Another objective of launching the WB Scholarship is to provide some sort of financial help and support in the form of scholarship amounts to the students so that they will be able to uplift their educational standards after getting the scholarship amounts provided to them in the form of DBT. Around 8 scholarships will be offered to the students in the form of subsidiary scholarship initiatives.

Preparation Of Beneficiary List Under WB Scholarship

The list of eligible beneficiaries will be made by the concerned authorities delegated to this task.  In the first step, the student will be required to submit their application on the portal along with submitting necessary or important documents of the relevant size. Then the Nodal Teachers of the relevant school will verify and scrutinize their applications and then the same beneficiary list will be prepared by them and will soon get uploaded on the portal.

Important Information of WB Scholarship

Some other important information regulated by the government are as follows:- 

• Before getting registration under the relevant scholarship scheme the student will be required to maintain or secure minimum qualification, age as well as attendance in their school records. 
• Scholarships will be canceled by the government or school authorities in case the student violates discipline norms by the scholarship regulations.
• The state government of West Bengal will also be authorized to cancel the scholarship amount of the student in case he or she has violated the scholarship norms and regulations.
• The student will be solely responsible for carrying out the Genuity or correctness of the details file on the application form. 
• The scholarship will only be provided to those students who have never got any kind of scholarship amount under any scholarship scheme otherwise the student will get expelled from getting the scholarship amount or getting any kind of registration under the relevant scholarship scheme.
• In case the student wants to apply for the renewal of the scholarship application then it is her primary responsibility to secure 50% of the minimum marks in the last year’s examination.
• There will be a difference in the scholarship amount provided to the scholar or hosteller. 

75% Attendance Is Must

It is mandatory for all students whether they are carrying out scholarship incentives or whether they need to secure 75% of the minimum attendance in their school records otherwise they will be restricted from getting school classes.  Having 75% of attendance can also be beneficial for the student to get enrollment under any kind of scholarship scheme.

Application Renewal Of WB Scholarship

For applying for the renewal of the scholarship application form, the student will need to secure minimum or qualifying marks out of the total percentage in their last year’s examination. For example, if the student is studying for a college-level degree such as UG Or PG, then he or she will need to secure 50% to 60% of marks in the previous year’s semester exam.
