With the active participation of the Education Department, Ministry of Minority Affairs and Indian Council for Education, HP Scholarship has been launched so that the students belonging to the underprivileged communities will be able to pursue pre- and post-matric classes with the help of scholarship amounts provided to them. There are around 33 scholarships which will be provided to the students for applying.

HP Scholarship 2023

There are around 33 scholarships categorized under state sponsored, centrally sponsored and technical education which will be provided to the students for applying online under the Himachal Pradesh Scholarship. This scholarship will be provided to the students belonging to the categories such as SC, ST, BC, OBC and disabled. Students will be able to get variable scholarships.

Variable scholarship amounts in the form of financial assistance will be given to the candidates residing in HP state for undertaking pre- and post-matric classes under the HP Scholarship. There are around 33 subsidiary scholarship initiatives listed in this. These scholarships will be categorized into 3 categories for the disbursement of scholarship amounts.

Objectives Of HP Scholarship Scheme

The main objective of launching the Himachal Pradesh Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the students belonging to the underprivileged communities or categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EBC, DNTs and Minorities so that they will be able to undertake pre- and post-matric classes with the help of scholarship amounts provided to them.

Another objective of HP Scholarship is to provide variable scholarship amounts to the residents of Himachal Pradesh so that they will be able to carry out pre- and post-matric classes on the basis of beneficiary category to which they belong. Beneficiary category and the class undertaken by them will determine the scholarship amounts.

ePASS

The government of Himachal Pradesh has developed and designed ePASS (Electronic Payment & Application System of Scholarships) portal so that meritorious students from the EBC/OBC will be able to apply online under any one of the scholarship schemes. This portal will provide student login so that they will get access to their dashboard.

Misuse of Scholarship Funds & Fraud Claims

There are some institutes of universities that are verifying duplicate students’ scholarships claims to misuse scholarship funds and they are also not giving the maintenance allowance to the students released by the department. University officials are blackmailing the students of SC/ST for depositing their fees despite promising to provide free education.

HP Scholarship will provide financial stability to the students belonging to the underprivileged communities such as SC, ST, OBC, EBC, DNT and Minority.
There are around 33 scholarships which will be provided to the students for undertaking further classes.
Both students of pre matric and post matric classes will get covered.
Hostelers will also be given the scholarships.
Students undertaking post matric classes will be given the scholarships on the basis of the course they are pursuing, which has been listed under the groups.
Some scholarships are given to the students on the monthly basis and some of them will be provided to the students on an annual basis.
Special inclusions have been kept for the students or children of Armed Forces Personnel killed / disabled in the different wars /operations and Cadets of NDA.
Students will need to satisfy the academic performance for getting the scholarship renewal.
The students will need to apply online for Himachal Pradesh Scholarship for getting registration on a time.
For women empowerment some scholarships are only meant for the girls communities.

Features Of Himachal Pradesh Scholarship

The features of this scholarship are as follows: –

HP Scholarship has been launched with the active participation of the various bodies such as:- Education Department, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Department of School, Education, and Literacy and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
There are around 33 scholarships covered in the form of subsidiary scholarship initiatives.
This scholarship will secure the interests of the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EBC, Minority and DNT.
The student must be pursuing classes from 1^st to 12^th.
The students who are pursuing degrees such as UG, PG and PhD in various courses will also be given the variable scholarships.
Students will be able to get the scholarship amounts either on a monthly or yearly basis.
Scholarships will be extended to the students or children of Armed Forces Personnel killed / disabled in the different wars /operations and Cadets of NDA.
The rate of scholarship amounts given to the hostelers will be slightly higher than compared to the scholarship amounts given to the scholars.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicants will have to fulfil these mentioned eligibility criteria for applying under this scholarship: –

Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana for SC Students	The student must be residing in the Himachal Pradesh state while holding the beneficiary category of SC pursuing class 11^th and 12^th having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana for OBC Students	OBC students must be pursuing classes 11^th and 12^th and their annual income must not exceed to Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Swami Vivekanand Utkrisht Yojana	The student must belong to the general category have secured good marks in the class 10^th board exam while attaining an annual income limit of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Thakur Sen Negi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana	ST students must be pursuing post matric classes and their annual income limit must be Rs. 2.5/- lakhs.
Kalpana Chawala Chattervriti Yojana	Girls Students must be pursuing classes 10+2 in the fields such as Science, Arts and Commerce.
Mukhiya Mantri Protsahan Yojana (One-time Incentive	The student must have got admission to the IIT, IIM and AIIMS instiute.
Maharshi Balmiki Chattervriti Yojana	This scholarship will only be provided to the girl students belonging to the valmiki families or unclean profession.
IRDP Scholarship Scheme	The student must be pursuing classes 9^th to college degree and he or she must belong to the IRDP family group.
Sainik School Sujanpur Tihara Scholarship	The student must be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh and he or she must be pursuing classes from 6^th to 8^th from Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra.
Rashtriya Indian Military College Scholarship (Only for RIMC Dehradun)	The students must have a domicile of Himachal Pradesh pursuing classes VIII to XII in Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun.
NDA Scholarship Scheme (Only for NDA Khadakwasla)	The student must be a cadets of Himachal Pradesh getting training from National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune.
Financial Assistance to the Children of the Armed Forces personnel killed/ disabled during the different war/ operations	This scholarship will be provided to the Children of Armed Forces Personnel killed / disabled in the different wars /operations for pursuing classes from 9^th to college degrees.
Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojana	The student must be approaching for pursuing higher course of studies in the courses such as professional and technical courses.
Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chattervriti Yojana for Post plus two Students	The student must me a male candidate who have top in the class 10+2 in the stream such as Arts, Science and Commerce.
Lahaul Spiti Pattern	The student must belong to the ST communities pursuing classes from 1^st to 5^th.
Girls Attendance Scholarship	This scholarship will be provided to the girl students only who have secured 90% attendance records.
National Scheme of Incentive to girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE) (CSS)	The student must belong to the SC or ST community being a girl candidate have passed the class 8^th exam and must be getting admission to the class 9^th falling under the age group of 16 years. Their annual income limit must be equal to Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Students (9th&10th) CSS	The student must be a candidate of SC or ST community pursuing classes such as 9^th or 10^th having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (1st to 10th) CSS	The student must belong to the Other Backward Class category and must be enrolling to the 1^st to 10^th class in the HP state having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Post-Matric Scholarship to SC/ST Students (CSS)	The student must be pursuing classes from 11^th to PhD degree belonging to the SC or ST category and their annual income limit must be Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Post-Matric Scholarship to OBC Students (CSS)	This scholarship will be provided to the students of OBC caste pursuing or undertaking post matric classes from 11^th to PhD degree while attaining an annual income limit not exceeding to Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship for Economically Backward Classes (EBC)	The student must be belonging to the EBC communities pursuing post secondary classes having an annual income limit of Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Upgradation of Merit of SC/ST Students (CSS) (Only for GSSS Bharmour, Chamba)	This scholarship will be provided to the students of SC or ST caste for pursuing classes from 9^th to 12^th from a government recognized school. Their annual income limit must be Rs. 2,50,000/-.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Students belonging to Minority Community (CSS)	The student must belong to the minority community carrying out UG or PG degree in the technical or professional course and their annual inome must not exceed to Rs. 2.50/- lakhs.
Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme to Students belonging to Minority Community	The minority students must be enrolling to the classes from 11^th to PhD degree in the various courses or streams having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious girl students belonging to Minorities	This scholarship will only be provided to the girl students belonging to minority communitiees pursuing classes from 11^th to PhD degree from the recognized schools/institutions or colleges.
National Means Cum Merit Scholarships	The student must belong to the EBC community and must have secured academic excellence pursuing classes 9^th to 12^th having an annual income limit of Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Scholarship to Disabled Students	The student must belong to the PWD community or category pursuing UG or PG degree in the profesional courses.
Dr. Ambedkar Pre-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS)	DNT students must be pursuing classes 1^st to 10^th having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Dr. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship for DNTs (CSS)	The student must be an DNT candidate pursuing post secondary or matric classes from the recognized schools/institutions/colleges having an annual income limit of Rs. 2,00,000/-.
Scholarships for PG/Degree & Engineering Level Courses	The student must be pursuing PG degree in the Engineering courses having an annual income limit of Rs. 36,000/-.
Scholarships for Diploma Courses	The student must be pursuing diploma in the Engineering courses having an annual income limit of Rs. 36,000/-.
Scholarships for ITI Students	The student must belong to SC/ST/OBC or General category pursuing ITI courses.
