The Department of Science and Technology has launched the Inspire Scholarship so that the students will be able to get or receive the scholarship amounts on an annual basis for pursuing Students pursuing 5 years of integrated MSc degrees. Students of IIT Kharagpur will be given scholarships. The students who have received the All India Rank in the Common Merit List will be provided scholarships.

Scholarship Amount

The students will be given a scholarship amount of Rs. 60,000/- on an annual basis.

Terms & Conditions 

Some of the important terms and conditions issued for this scholarship are as follows:- 

• Scholarships are given to eligible students in certain undergraduate programs based on their academic performance and financial need.
• All students, except those belonging to SC and ST categories, are eligible for these scholarships.
• Up to 25% of students admitted each year in undergraduate and dual degree programs will receive scholarships.
• The value of the scholarships will be decided by the Board of Governors.
• Recipients of the scholarship do not have to pay tuition fees, but they are required to pay other fees.
• The scholarships will be given for the entire academic year.
• If a student becomes eligible for another scholarship, they can choose either one.
• The initial award and annual renewal of the scholarship are subject to meeting certain criteria.
• If a student is involved in any disciplinary or code of conduct violations, their scholarship may be terminated.
• Fresh entrants need to have a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.
• For subsequent renewals, a minimum GPA of 7.00 is required.
• Scholarships can still be received even if the EAA (Education Aid Application) is not completed.
• Scholarships can be resumed for students who temporarily withdraw due to medical reasons or family emergencies.
• The income limit set by the Government of India applies as the criteria for financial need.
• An annual income certificate or income tax return must be submitted with the scholarship application.
• In case of a tie, all tied applicants will receive the scholarship.
