Objectives Of PRERANA Scholarship

The primary objective of launching the Odisha PRERANA Scholarship is to provide some form of financial assistance to students belonging to the economically backward classes as well as the economically weaker section of society to pursue their post-matriculation classes undertaking subjects of different streams. This scholarship will provide them with the assurance that their efforts in their studies are not going to be wasted. 

The second objective of launching the PRERANA Scholarship is to provide scholarship amounts to the students who have passed class 10^th and now are going to get admission to the post-matric classes such as classes 11th and 12th. To such students, the government will start providing scholarship amounts on the basis of their academic excellence or merit records.

Preparation Of Beneficiary List 

The selection body will be hired for the preparation of the beneficiary list containing the names of all those students who have been considered eligible for scholarship amounts. At first, their submitted documents will be scrutinized and then the beneficiary list will be prepared and the same thing will get uploaded on the portal.

Aadhar Card Is Must 

It has been mandatory for all the students undertaking Post-Matric Scholarships to have their aadhar card which must be verified with the UIDAI. These details will be used for the disbursement of the scholarship amount into the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries. Students will need to check their Aadhaar Verification Status through the login form.

Important Terms and Conditions

Some of the important terms and conditions are as follows:-

• The students will not be able to get or receive the scholarship amounts in case if he or she have not been able to secure at least 50% in the present area.
• If the student has crossed and broken the rules and regulations regarding the disbursement of scholarship amounts, then the scholarship may be dropped.
• The applicant’s studentship will get removed in case the selection authority comes to know that the student or applicant has taken the scholarship amount by fake or illegal attempt.
• Securing minimum cut-off marks in the previous year marks is a must for getting a scholarship renewal.
• The mode of DBT will be used for providing the scholarship amounts.

Benefits Of Odisha PRERANA Scholarship 2024  

The benefits of this scholarship are as follows:- 

• Students who have enrolled or registered themselves under the PRERANA Scholarship Scheme will be given financial assistance. 
• There are 4 kinds of scholarships that will provide scholarships to each student of each category. 
• This will provide social security or social welfare to the students belonging to the Social and Economic Backward Classes of society. 
• SC students will be given financial assistance of Rs. 550/- to Rs. 1200/- per month for carrying out post-matric classes.
• Financial assistance of Rs. 350/- to Rs. 750/- will be provided to the OBC/SEBC students for carrying out classes from 11^th to PhD degrees.
• Hostelers will be given slightly higher scholarship amounts as compared to the scholar students.
• The beneficiary list will soon be uploaded to the portal.
• Scholarship renewal can be possible if the student has secured minimum cut-off marks.
• Students securing 75% attendance will also be considered eligible for registration under the Odisha PRERANA Scholarship.
• Beneficiaries will be able to get the scholarship amounts on the basis of the student type to which they belong to.

Features Of PRERANA Scholarship Scheme 2024  

The features of this scholarship are as follows:- 

• The State Government of Odisha has launched the Odisha PRERANA Scholarship.
• This scholarship will be provided to the students residing in Odisha state.
• There are around 4 kinds of scholarships that have been covered under this scholarship initiative.
• The student must belong to an underprivileged community such as SC, ST, OBC, EBC and SEBC.
• Both hostelers and scholars will be given variable scholarship amounts.
• Both SC and ST scholars will be given a scholarship amount of Rs. 550/- for undertaking post-matric classes.
• A scholarship amount of Rs. 1200/- monthly will be provided to the hosteller’s SC and ST students for carrying out post-matric classes.
• This scholarship will cover the tuition fees, sports fees, course fees and admission fees.
• The beneficiary List of the PRERANA Scholarship will be made by the selection body after scrutinizing the attached documents. 
• The annual income of the student’s family must not exceed the stated provisions.

PRERANA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

The students will need to follow the mentioned eligibility criteria for getting online registration under this scholarship:- 

• The student must be a permanent resident of Odisha state.
• The applicant must fall under the categories of SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, EBC & EWS. 
• Students of SC and ST categories must have an annual income of Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
• Students belonging to the categories of Other Backward Classes and SEBC must have an annual income of Rs. 1 lakhs. 
• The students must have secured 50% of the minimum marks in their previous year’s examination results.
