In order to provide scholarship amounts in the form of financial aid and support, Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme has been launched so that students will be able to undertake classes from 9th to 12th after getting the scholarship aids. This scholarship will be provided only to the residents of West Bengal. The date to apply online will be updated soon.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2024

An amount of Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 5,000/- will be provided to the students living in West Bengal. For this, they will need to apply online for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship. This scholarship amounts will be provided to the students on an annual basis. The annual income limit of the student will be taken into consideration at the time of considering selection of the student.

The State Govt of West Bengal has launched the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship so that the students will be able to carry out higher studies after getting the financial help and support granted to them. There are variable scholarship amounts that will be provided to the students on the basis of class or degree to which the student has taken admission.

Objectives Of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

The main objective of launching the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme is to provide a portal or interface by which the students falling under the section of economically backward classes may be able to get financial assistance for the persuasion of their higher studies which will only be possible after securing good marks in their previous year’s examination. 

Another objective of launching the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is to promote the literacy rate among the students studying in classes 9th to 12th because it is the stage in which we have to be serious about our careers. Lakhs of students will be able to fulfil their dreams of pursuing a higher level of education. One can apply online before the last date to get timely registration.

Main Selection Criteria

The main selection criteria which will play as a base for determining the eligibility of the applicants who will be considered eligible for getting active registration to this scheme will be his or her previous year’s performance and attendance recorded in their school records. Only those students will be considered eligible who have secured 60% of the minimum marks in their previous examination and have 75% of the attendance record in their school attendance register.

Possessing Annual Income Is Must

The source of earnings of the student/beneficiary’s family will also be taken into consideration whenever the student is shortlisted for the scholarship amounts. The annual income of the student’s family must not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-. Only those students will be shortlisted whose annual income value equals this amount.

Scholarship Renewal Process

The duration of the scholarship amount will be available for 1 year. After the completion of the scholarship amount, the student will be required to apply for the scholarship renewal. For this, the student pursuing or who has completed their Bachelor of Arts will need to secure 60% of the minimum marks in the last year’s semester examination and 50% of the minimum marks in the Master of Arts.

Important Instructions For Scholarship Renewal

Some important instructions issued by the government for the scholarship renewal process are as follows:-

• Those students who are pursuing graduation in any different stream will need to submit the mark sheet for semester 1 and semester 2 while applying for the scholarship renewal. This will be applicable only for the first-time renewal. 
• If the applicant is going to apply for the second renewal for the scholarship amount then he or she will need to submit the mark sheet of semesters 3rd and 4th of the undergraduate degree.
• Students who have completed their post-graduation studies and are now pursuing their MBBS degree will need to submit the mark sheet for semester 1 of their MBBS degree. This will only be applicable for the first-time renewal process. 
• If the applicant is going to apply for the second renewal for the scholarship amount then he or she will need to submit the mark sheet for the semester 2nd of the MBBS degree.

The last date for online form submission will be 31st March 2024 by which the students can apply online. • 1st Renewal:- Please submit your Semester 1 and Semester 2 marksheets for the renewal process.
• 2nd Renewal:- For the second renewal, it is necessary to provide your Semester 3 and Semester 4 mark sheets.

MBBS Students

If you are studying MBBS, the renewal process for your SVMCM Scholarship is as follows:- 

• 1st Renewal:- You need to submit your 1st MBBS mark sheets for the first renewal.
• 2nd Renewal:- For the second renewal in the following year, please furnish your 2nd Prof MBBS mark sheets.
• 3rd and Final Renewal:- Lastly, for the third and final renewal in the subsequent year, you will be required to provide your 3rd Prof Part 1 MBBS marksheets.
